She survived two deliveries against all odds.
It takes the grace of God
for a woman to get pregnant, complete her pregnancy term and deliver the baby
without any issues. When everything goes well, many may not know how much blessing they have received from God. May you receive your own blessing from
the Lord. Amen.

after the cut.
Margaret Boemer’s baby was
diagnosed of sacrococcygeal teratoma sixteen
weeks into her pregnancy. This is a tumor growing from the baby’s coccyx
(tailbone).
Fetal tumors are very rare in pregnancy, happens once in every
35,000 births and usually occur in girls. Some tumors may be tolerated throughout
the entire pregnancy but in the case of Boemer, it was growing simultaneously with
the baby in the womb causing an obstruction to the baby’s growth and affecting
the blood supply to the baby’s heart.
As reported by CNN, Boemer was initially pregnant with twins but lost one of the babies before her second trimester. Some doctors had warned her that the tumor was too large and her health would be at risk if she continued with the pregnancy. Fortunately, the baby got a miraculous
chance when about 24 weeks into the pregnancy, the doctors at the Texas
Children’s Hospital in Houston performed a fetal surgery on her.
The operation which took
about five hours performed by Dr. Darrell Cass and his partner doctor, Dr. Oluyinka
Olutoye (A Nigerian) involved removing the tumor and also bringing the baby out of the womb,
and then she was put back in the womb to continue her growth until she was born
at 36 weeks.
It’s a miracle the baby
survived even after the baby’s heartbeat had stopped for a moment when it was
removed from the womb. The woman was placed on bed rest after the successful
operation until she delivered her baby the second time by Caesarian section. Baby,
Lynlee Hope, born June 2016 is four months old now and is doing well.
Dr. Cass said he did a
similar surgery previously and the child, about seven years old now is normal
and doing absolutely fine.
