You may not know anyone who is battling or has battled with cancer but cancer is real and is affecting people all over the world. Currently more than 8 million people die annually from cancer worldwide, 4 million (aged 30 to 69 years) die prematurely.

When Teni woke up with a red itchy eye, I prayed silently and wished it wasn’t what I thought, but my little boy was so uncomfortable. He tried rubbing his eyes but I gently prevented him from doing so. He just kept saying “What is wrong with my eyes? My eyes are sticky, they are growing bigger and hurts”. That’s the discomfort one gets from conjunctivitis which is commonly called Apollo in Nigeria (who knows where the name originated from sef?).

Facts you should know about Lassa Fever and its Prevention as another case has been reported in Edo State, Nigeria.


Lassa fever has just killed a man who was said to be on a visit to Nigeria to attend his mother’s funeral at Ekpoma in Benin, Edo state, Nigeria. He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of stomach ache. The patient reportedly died three hours after a surgical operation was performed before he was diagnosed of having Lassa fever.
